Huge congratulations to my mate and business partner, Adam Johnstone, for his result at last weekend’s Cairns Cycling Club A Grade Copperlode Cup. This is a leg-burning 14 km climb with 800 m elevation.
A self-described non-climber, Adam viewed the race as a training ride, knowing he wouldn’t be able to compete with the club’s mountain goat whippets. However, his plan of just focusing on his power output paid big dividends, as one by one he methodically churned past the other cyclists – finishing the race in 3rd place and wiping a massive 3 minutes of his previous best time!
Adam credits part of his success to the more than 300 silky smooth gear shifts made on his NPW treated power-saving drivetrain. Well done Adam “The Freight Train” Johnstone, and Niestone Pow3r Wax!
